The Bridgehampton Union Free School District runs a single school, the Bridgehampton School, for pre-kindergarten through grade 12, with 185 students in fall 2024. The district employs 42 full-time-equivalent teachers. For homes nearby, see rentals in Bridgehampton and check the district boundary.
Registering
Registration can occur at any time, though the district encourages families to register by August 15 before the school year begins. After completing the forms, families call the registrar at (631) 998-1300, extension 1325, to book an appointment, and arrange a second appointment with the guidance counselor. The district also offers a non-resident student application for those living outside the district, available on request.
In 2024 the New York Attorney General’s office published a letter agreement with the district after reviewing its registration procedures. The AG found the Board of Education’s policies consistent with the Commissioner’s regulations and identified certain verification requirements in the district’s public-facing registration materials. Read the agreement if you hit a document demand that seems out of line, and see enrolling a new student for the state’s guidance.
Neighbors
Bridgehampton is also an option for Wainscott and Sagaponack families, whose own schools end early. The district office is at 2685 Montauk Hwy, Bridgehampton, NY 11932, phone (631)537-0271. The Bridgehampton profile has the rest.
