The Amagansett Union Free School District runs the Amagansett School, which NCES lists as PreK to grade 8 with 112 students in fall 2024. The district’s 2024-25 calendar describes the school as serving kindergarten through sixth grade, with a pre-kindergarten program for three- and four-year-olds, so confirm the current grade span with the district. Amagansett has 821 Census residents, and 80% of its homes are seasonal. The Census counts 57 renter households there. See rentals in Amagansett.

After the last grade

Amagansett signed a five-year tuition agreement with East Hampton in February 2025, subject to voter approval and state sign-off. The East Hampton Star reported that Amagansett, Montauk and Springs agreed to send all their graduating students exclusively to East Hampton, except special-education students who need out-of-district services. The East Hampton district therefore receives Amagansett’s older students.

Contact

The district is at 320 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930, phone (631)267-3572. Ask the office for its proof-of-residency list for tenants. If you hit a requirement that seems stricter than the state’s, compare it with the Attorney General’s guidance. The Amagansett profile covers the hamlet.
