Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is the South Fork’s main hospital, at 240 Meeting House Lane in Southampton. The hospital’s emergency department is at 240 Meeting House Lane, with the entrance on Lewis Street between Meeting House Lane and Herrick. The number for the department is (631) 726-8420. According to the hospital:

• It is a Provisional Level III Adult Trauma Center. Critically injured patients needing a higher level of care may go to the Stony Brook University Hospital Level I Trauma Center by ambulance or, when critical, by a Suffolk County Police Department helicopter in 12 minutes.
• It is a New York State designated Primary Stroke Center, and the destination of ambulances when a heart attack or stroke is suspected. The hospital describes a cath lab and a cardiology team that treat heart and vascular events with minimally invasive procedures.
• A Fast Track service handles non-life-threatening problems such as colds, sore throats and coughs, according to Stony Brook Southampton’s campus health page.

After the emergency room

Admitted patients go to a unit in the hospital with 24/7 visitation, subject to restrictions for patients with infectious disease. The hospital’s website lists a maternity center and a breast center, among other services, and books non-emergency imaging for the East Hampton emergency department’s imaging center.
