Hamptons Year Round

Hampton Bays Union Free School District

Three schools from kindergarten to grade 12 for the East End's largest year-round hamlet.

Published by Liberty Design Studio

The Hampton Bays Union Free School District enrolled 2,008 students in fall 2024 in three schools: Hampton Bays Elementary (K to grade 4, 654 students), Hampton Bays Middle School (grades 5 to 8, 570) and Hampton Bays High School (grades 9 to 12, 784). That makes it the largest district on this site, matching a hamlet with 15,706 Census residents. Year-round rentals in Hampton Bays are the starting point for families who want a larger school.

Registering

The district asks families to register by phone or email with the registrar rather than through a portal: call the registrar at (631) 723-2100, extension 5107. The district office line is 631-723-2110. A separate Universal Pre-K sign-up exists, and the district tells families to ask the registrar about available seats. The district’s posted forms include a change of address and phone form in English and Spanish, useful if you move within the district during the year.

The district’s main address is 86 E Argonne Rd, Hampton Bays, NY 11946. Ask the registrar for the current list of proofs of residency accepted for tenants, since the posted page does not itemize them.

Where the district sits

Hampton Bays has the most renter households of any place profiled here, 1,088, and a median home value of $735,400, among the lowest on the South Fork. Its high school is its own: older students do not tuition out. See every district side by side, read the state’s rules in enrolling a new student and the Hampton Bays profile.
